Brookfield to Develop 2 Million sq ft Facility in Maharashtra, Project Set to Create 45,000 Jobs: CM Fadnavis
Brookfield will develop a 2-million-sq-ft facility in Maharashtra to expand its Global Capability Centers, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced. The project is expected to generate 45,000 direct and indirect jobs, marking a major boost to the state’s investment climate and industrial growth strategy.
According to Fadnavis, the upcoming development is expected to create around 45,000 jobs, including 15,000 direct positions and approximately 30,000 indirect employment opportunities across associated sectors. He emphasized that Brookfield’s commitment reflects growing investor confidence in Maharashtra’s infrastructure, business climate, and long-term economic vision.
The Chief Minister said the initiative will not only expand the presence of high-value capability centers in the state but also invigorate allied industries and services that benefit from such large-scale investments. Officials see the project as part of a broader push to establish Maharashtra as a preferred hub for global enterprises seeking operational depth and technological capabilities.
As the state accelerates efforts to attract multinational firms and scale up its innovation-driven economic agenda, the Brookfield project marks a strategic leap. With thousands of jobs on the horizon and significant commercial space entering the market, Maharashtra’s government views the development as a catalyst poised to strengthen industrial growth and reinforce the state’s position as a leader in India’s investment landscape.
