ICC Opens Ticket Sales for 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup as India–Pakistan Clash Set to Drive Early Frenzy

Tickets for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 are now on sale, with prices starting at ₹100 in India and LKR 1000 in Sri Lanka. The tournament, set for February 7–March 8 in India and Sri Lanka, features 20 teams. India open against the USA, while the India–Pakistan clash is scheduled for February 15 in Colombo.

The International Cricket Council on Thursday announced the launch of ticket sales for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, setting off an early wave of anticipation among fans in India, Sri Lanka, and across the cricketing world. Tickets went live at 6:45 pm, with entry prices starting at an accessible ₹100 at select Indian venues and LKR 1000 in Sri Lanka—an unusually low threshold for a global sporting event of this scale.

The 10th edition of the T20 World Cup, scheduled from February 7 to March 8, 2026, will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The tournament will feature 20 teams divided into four groups of five, marking one of the largest competitive fields in the event’s history. Defending champions India have been placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, the Netherlands, Namibia, and the USA.

India will open their title defence on February 7 at Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium, facing the USA in what is expected to draw heavy domestic and international attention. Yet the tournament’s most anticipated showdown remains the India–Pakistan fixture, set for February 15 at Colombo’s R. Premadasa Stadium—an encounter that traditionally triggers unprecedented demand both at the box office and online. Pakistan will play all their group-stage matches in Sri Lanka, adding a unique logistical element to the tournament’s bilateral dynamics.

With the formal start of ticket sales, organisers are bracing for rapid sell-outs of marquee matches and major city venues. The ICC’s early communication emphasised both accessibility and fan engagement, reinforcing expectations that the 2026 edition will attract record attendance across two cricket-obsessed nations.
