Ashok Vajpeyi Recalls Nehru’s Quiet but Pivotal Intervention in the Boris Pasternak Affair

Pasternak’s selection for the Nobel Prize provoked intense anger within the Soviet establishment, which viewed his novel Doctor Zhivago as ideologically subversive.
