Former MLA Kalpana Verma Accuses Chhattisgarh Minister of Misusing Power for Personal Gain

Former MLA Kalpana Verma accuses a Chhattisgarh minister and her relatives of misusing government power for personal purposes. Speaking in Raigarh, Verma calls the situation a threat to democratic ethics and urges an immediate inquiry into the alleged abuse of authority.

Former legislator Kalpana Verma has raised serious allegations against a state minister in Chhattisgarh, claiming that the minister and her close relatives are treating public authority as a private entitlement. Speaking in Raigarh, Verma asserted that the actions of the minister’s family members reflect an alarming pattern of influence being used for personal benefit rather than public service.

According to Verma, the conduct of those in power has crossed the boundaries of democratic propriety. She argued that the alleged behaviour not only undermines administrative ethics but also erodes public trust in governance. Pointing to what she described as “open misuse of authority,” she urged the administration to initiate an immediate and impartial inquiry into the matter.

Verma emphasised that such incidents weaken the foundations of institutional accountability and create an atmosphere where public institutions risk being overshadowed by private interests. She maintained that swift action is essential to reinforce the principles of transparency and responsible governance.

In highlighting the broader implications, Verma noted that the accusations should be treated as a wake-up call for the state’s political and administrative machinery. She reiterated that a thorough investigation is necessary to restore confidence in democratic processes and ensure that public office remains aligned with public interest.
