Six Arrested in Major Land-Fraud Scam Near Jewar Airport; Woman Allegedly Posed as Fake Owner to Transfer Farmland
A major land-fraud racket near Jewar Airport surfaced as Bulandshahr’s Kakod Police arrested six people, including a woman who allegedly posed as a fake owner to register farmland worth ₹78 lakh using forged Aadhaar and PAN cards. Authorities seized equipment, froze ₹17.5 lakh across bank accounts, and continue probing the wider conspiracy.
According to the Kakod Police in Bulandshahr, the group allegedly forged official documents to execute a fraudulent sale deed for farmland located close to the airport development zone, a region where property values have surged in recent years. Investigators said the accused produced fake identity papers, including an Aadhaar card and PAN card issued under the name “Uvarshi Gupta,” to legitimize the forged transaction.
Police stated that the woman at the center of the conspiracy, identified as Sangita Chaudhary, had allegedly assumed the identity of “Uvarshi Gupta” to carry out the registry of the land. The property was then transferred in the name of Delhi resident Rahul Jain. Officers recovered the forged documents along with the laptop and printer believed to have been used to fabricate them.
As part of the crackdown, police have frozen multiple bank accounts linked to the accused, blocking transactions amounting to ₹17.5 lakh. Officials noted that the full scope of the conspiracy is still under review and that the possible involvement of additional collaborators is being scrutinized.
The incident highlights the growing risks of property fraud in high-value development corridors and underscores the need for heightened vigilance as land demand intensifies around major infrastructure projects like Jewar Airport.
