Madhya Pradesh Govt Driving State Into Deep Debt, Alleges Jitu Patwari

Congress leader Jitu Patwari accuses the Madhya Pradesh government of driving the state into financial distress through unchecked borrowing. He warns of long-term consequences for future generations and demands transparent disclosure of the state’s fiscal status, intensifying the debate over economic governance.

Congress leader Jitu Patwari has sharply criticised the Madhya Pradesh government, accusing Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s administration of pushing the state toward a mounting economic crisis through unchecked borrowing. His remarks, made on Wednesday in Bhopal, intensify the ongoing political debate over the state’s fiscal management.

Patwari argued that the government’s current financial approach is eroding the stability of Madhya Pradesh’s economic framework, warning that the consequences will extend far beyond the present term. According to him, the administration’s reliance on escalating debt is not only straining the state’s existing resources but also placing an undue burden on future generations.

Calling for greater accountability, the Congress leader demanded that the government issue a comprehensive explanation of the state’s financial health and bring more transparency to its budgeting and borrowing practices. He maintained that the public has a right to know how state funds are being used and what long-term impact the growing liabilities may have.

The allegations add to the broader discourse surrounding fiscal responsibility in the state, underscoring concerns about sustainability, governance, and public accountability as Madhya Pradesh navigates its economic challenges.
