Narrow basement parking areas, crowded shopping-mall car parks and vehicles parked close to the lines can leave drivers with little room for error. Finding an available space is only part of the challenge; positioning the vehicle without hitting a pillar, clipping a kerb or leaving it at an awkward angle requires careful control and attention.
Taking time to assess the available space, reversing slowly and making small steering adjustments can help drivers manage these situations. Correcting the vehicle's position is also a practical part of parking. If the first attempt leaves the car too close to one side or at an awkward angle, drivers can pull forward, straighten the vehicle and reverse again. Making an additional adjustment can help achieve a better position without attempting to squeeze into a space from an unsuitable angle.
Similar precautions apply when leaving a parking space. Higher variants of VinFast vehicles offer Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which can provide additional information when reversing out. These features can be particularly useful when another vehicle approaches from a direction that is difficult to see directly.
Parking assistance technology can make tight spaces easier to navigate, but safe manoeuvring still depends on careful observation, controlled movements and the willingness to correct the vehicle's position when necessary.
