Ayush Malik Returns to Hinduism Amid Conversion Dispute and Ongoing Legal Controversy
Ayush Malik, son of Shamli businessman Devraj Malik, has returned to Hinduism after converting to Islam four years ago. His return follows the arrest of his wife Chandni Qureshi and her father under Uttar Pradesh's anti-conversion law, amid allegations of brainwashing, a dispute over the family's pharmaceutical business, and continuing public debate over the case.
According to the details available, Ayush converted to Islam four years ago and changed his name to Mohammad Ali. He also grew a beard and married gym trainer Chandni Qureshi. His father, Devraj Malik, alleged that his son had been brainwashed as part of a conspiracy to gain control of the family's pharmaceutical business.
Acting on the allegations, police arrested Chandni Qureshi and her father on June 7 under Uttar Pradesh's anti-conversion law. The case drew significant public attention due to the serious accusations surrounding the religious conversion and the alleged financial motive behind it.
On June 29, Ayush was seen performing Hindu religious rituals in a video shared by his father, marking his return to Hinduism. According to the information provided, Ayush stated that he decided to return because of the distress experienced by his family. However, questions have also been raised by some observers over whether the decision was made voluntarily or under pressure, while several Hindu organizations welcomed the development as a return to the faith.
The case continues to attract widespread attention as it combines allegations of religious conversion, family conflict, business interests, and legal proceedings under Uttar Pradesh's anti-conversion law. Ayush's return to Hinduism has added another significant chapter to an already controversial case that remains under public scrutiny.
