Mumbai Content Creator Reveals Online Shopping Price-Comparison Hack That Sparks Widespread Attention
A Mumbai content creator has gained attention after sharing a viral online shopping hack that compares product prices across platforms and aggregates social media reviews. The method, demonstrated on Instagram, aims to help users find cheaper deals and make informed purchasing decisions while sparking mixed reactions over authenticity concerns and consumer trust in online marketplaces.
The video, posted on Instagram by creator Nidhi Amonkar, who uses the handle @nidhiamonkar, presented a technique aimed at helping consumers avoid overspending on beauty and fashion purchases frequently added to online shopping carts but left unpurchased while users wait for discounts.
In the video, Amonkar explained that users should first copy the link of a desired product from a shopping application. She then demonstrated that by entering the copied link into a browser with the addition of a specific prefix, the system generates a comparison view showing the same product listed across different online retail platforms along with their respective prices.
According to her explanation, the tool also compiles product reviews from social media platforms such as Instagram and YouTube, enabling users to evaluate perceived advantages and disadvantages before making a purchase decision. She further claimed that the reviews aggregated through this method are based on organic user opinions rather than paid or sponsored promotional content.
The hack quickly gained traction on social media, particularly among users who frequently purchase beauty and fashion products online. Many viewers described the concept as practical and potentially useful in reducing overall shopping costs without relying solely on seasonal discount events.
However, the method also prompted mixed reactions from internet users. While several individuals expressed appreciation for the idea and its potential savings, others raised concerns regarding product authenticity when purchasing items from lower-priced or lesser-known online platforms. Some users stated that despite finding cheaper options elsewhere, they preferred established marketplaces due to concerns over product genuineness.
A section of users also shared personal experiences, noting that while price differences across platforms were often noticeable, trust and authenticity remained decisive factors in their purchasing decisions. Others reacted positively with supportive and approval-based responses, stating that they had saved the video for future use during online shopping.
The growing attention toward the hack highlights increasing consumer interest in tools and methods that enhance price transparency in the rapidly expanding online retail ecosystem.
