High-Speed Collision on Gogunda-Pindwara Highway Leaves Two Youths Critically Injured; Driver Trapped, Trailer Flees Scene
Two youths sustained critical injuries in a high-speed collision on the Gogunda-Pindwara Highway in Udaipur district after a car crossed the divider and crashed into a trailer. The driver, Kailash Nangarchi of Semtal, was trapped and rescued by villagers. Police led by SHO Shyam Singh Charan reached the spot and launched an investigation as the trailer driver fled.
The impact of the collision left the car driver, Kailash Nangarchi, a resident of Semtal, severely trapped inside the wreckage. The vehicle was badly mangled due to the force of the crash, making rescue efforts extremely difficult at the scene.
Local villagers rushed to the site and, after significant effort, managed to extricate the trapped driver from the severely damaged car. Emergency responders were immediately alerted following the incident.
Gogunda Station House Officer Shyam Singh Charan arrived at the location along with a police team to manage the situation and initiate preliminary procedures. Both injured occupants were rushed to Gogunda Hospital for urgent medical attention. After primary treatment, doctors referred both victims to the district hospital due to the seriousness of their injuries.
In a critical development, the trailer driver reportedly fled the scene along with the vehicle immediately after the accident, raising concerns over accountability and compliance with road safety norms.
Authorities have launched a formal investigation into the cause of the accident, examining factors such as excessive speed, loss of control, and possible negligence. Police continue efforts to trace the absconding trailer driver while further inquiry is underway.
