DS Group Unveils Data-Driven Climate Strategy on Earth Day, Aligns Growth with India’s NDC Goals

DS Group announces a comprehensive climate action strategy on Earth Day, aligning with India’s NDC goals. The initiative includes a full GHG inventory, renewable energy transition, circular economy practices, and LEED-certified sustainable operations, reinforcing its leadership in ESG-driven growth.

Marking Earth Day, Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group), a leading FMCG conglomerate and multi-business corporation, announced a strengthened climate action strategy that integrates sustainability into core business decision-making across its diverse operations. Aligned with India’s updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), the roadmap prioritizes decarbonization, resource efficiency, and responsible growth across the Group’s extensive portfolio.

At the center of this initiative is the development of a comprehensive Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory for the financial year 2024–25. This inventory will cover direct operations, energy consumption, and supply chain activities, in alignment with Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions. The exercise is aimed at enabling targeted, data-driven interventions across the entire value chain.

The audit process encompasses the full spectrum of emissions, including those from direct operations, purchased energy, and critical supply chain functions. By identifying key emission drivers, DS Group is transitioning from broad sustainability commitments to precise, evidence-based actions. The approach embeds climate considerations into governance frameworks and future strategic decisions, ensuring measurable environmental outcomes.

On the occasion, Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar stated that the Group’s multi-dimensional strategy places decarbonization and resource integrity as essential performance metrics. He emphasized that DS Group is accelerating its transition to renewable energy to reduce the carbon intensity of its products and services. Simultaneously, the organization is advancing circular economy practices to optimize water and material usage while engaging supply chain partners in sustainable sourcing to address indirect environmental impacts. He added that future expansions will undergo climate-risk evaluation to maintain alignment with India’s updated NDC goals.
