Joint Solar Unveils Next Growth Phase with Focus on High-Efficiency Solar Module Manufacturing
Joint Solar announces its next growth phase with a focus on high-efficiency solar module manufacturing. With 1.3 GW capacity and over five lakh installations, the company aims to expand production, strengthen innovation, and support India’s renewable energy transition.
Founded in 2000 by engineer duo Mr. Vinod Sharma and Mrs. Pratibha Sharma, the company began operations at a time when awareness of solar energy in India was minimal. Initially, Joint Solar focused on solutions such as solar street lighting systems, solar power plants, solar high mast systems, and solar-powered pumps. In 2009, the company expanded its operations, gradually extending its presence across multiple regions in the country.
Over the years, the company has established a strong footprint, particularly in North India, including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and the Delhi-National Capital Region, while also expanding into eastern markets such as Odisha, West Bengal, Nagaland, and Mizoram. Its portfolio now includes the manufacturing of solar panels using polycrystalline, monocrystalline, and Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact technologies, aligning with evolving customer demands and efficiency standards.
Joint Solar operates two manufacturing facilities, including a major plant located in Pilakhua near Hapur, which contributes significantly to its total capacity of 1.3 GW. As part of its forward-looking strategy, the company has set a target to produce more than 5,000 high-efficiency solar modules daily, reflecting its commitment to scaling production in response to rising demand.
Speaking on the company’s journey, Managing Director Mr. Vinod Sharma highlighted the transformation of the solar market over the past two decades. He noted that the company has continuously adapted to changing customer expectations by upgrading technologies, expanding manufacturing capabilities, and maintaining a focus on reliable products. He emphasized that Joint Solar’s approach combines experience with continuous improvement, supported by an in-house research and development division dedicated to technological advancement and product innovation.
The company stated that increasing customer preference for advanced and high-efficiency solar technologies is driving manufacturers to innovate continuously. In response, Joint Solar is prioritizing the enhancement of its product portfolio and strengthening its position in line with evolving market requirements. Continuous technology upgrades and internal research remain central to its strategy.
Joint Solar also highlighted its recent recognition with the Award for Excellence in Renewable Energy, describing it as an encouraging milestone that reinforces its focus on quality manufacturing and long-term growth.
Addressing the broader landscape of solar adoption in India, Mr. Sharma pointed out that lack of awareness continues to hinder the sector’s full potential. He stated that the company is actively working to promote awareness of renewable energy and build consumer confidence in solar solutions.
The company further noted that smaller cities and emerging markets present significant growth opportunities. It emphasized the importance of dealer-driven expansion and stronger distribution networks as key components of its strategy moving forward. Joint Solar reaffirmed that its long-term priorities remain centered on advanced manufacturing, continuous technology upgrades, and contributing to India’s clean energy transition through dependable solar solutions.
The announcement underscores the company’s intent to align with the country’s renewable energy ambitions while reinforcing its role as a key player in advancing efficient and scalable solar technologies.
