Nearly seven years ago, he launched an anti-Islam YouTube channel, which gained traction and drew support from certain Hindu groups.
The case resurfaced in public focus following a stabbing incident at his residence on February 27 this year. The attack prompted renewed scrutiny of his background, leading law enforcement agencies to reopen the cold case investigation. Subsequent verification of biometric records and images confirmed his identity after he recovered from the attack.
Delhi Police officials stated that the breakthrough came after coordinated verification efforts established a definitive match with the 1997 court conviction records. The arrest marks the culmination of a long-standing manhunt in a case that had remained unresolved for decades.
Authorities are now expected to proceed with further legal action as the investigation continues into both the decades-old conviction and the circumstances surrounding his prolonged evasion of custody.
