Ration Dealers Stage Protest During Public Grievance Hearing at Budhana Tehsil

Ration dealers protested during Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas at Budhana tehsil in Muzaffarnagar, submitting a complaint against a supply inspector over alleged illegal extortion. Officials acknowledged the allegations and ordered an inquiry, assuring action after investigation.

A routine public grievance hearing at Budhana tehsil in Muzaffarnagar took a charged turn when a group of local ration dealers publicly protested against a supply inspector, alleging illegal financial demands and administrative harassment.

The incident unfolded during the “Sampoorna Samadhan Diwas,” a government-mandated forum where residents approach senior officials to seek redress for long-pending civic and administrative complaints. As complainants presented their grievances before the authorities, ration dealers from the region gathered at the venue and submitted a formal written complaint against the supply inspector responsible for overseeing fair price shops.

According to the dealers, the official had been demanding unlawful payments in connection with routine inspections and administrative clearances. They voiced their objections during the proceedings, drawing attention to what they described as persistent exploitation and misuse of authority. The protest, though vocal, remained confined to the grievance forum, underscoring the dealers’ intent to seek official intervention rather than escalate the matter outside the administrative framework.

Senior officials present at the tehsil acknowledged receipt of the complaint and assured the ration dealers that the allegations would be examined thoroughly. The administration directed the concerned departments to initiate an inquiry and take appropriate action based on the findings, emphasizing that any form of corruption or misconduct would not be tolerated.

The episode highlights the growing use of public grievance platforms as a space not only for citizens but also for grassroots stakeholders to raise concerns against alleged administrative wrongdoing. As the inquiry progresses, its outcome is expected to test the accountability mechanisms within the local supply department and reinforce confidence in institutional grievance redressal systems.
