Following the Bhagirathpura crisis that killed 22 and hospitalized hundreds, fresh reports of sewage leaks and illnesses raise urgent questions about India’s urban infrastructure and the safety of its public water supply systems.  

Residents of Indore’s Azad Nagar are raising alarms over the distribution of contaminated water allegedly infested with insects. Following the public outcry, social activist Umang Singhar has demanded an immediate water audit and ICMR intervention, warning of a potential public health crisis similar to the Bhagirathpura incident if the Indore Municipal Corporation fails to act.
