Severely Injured Cattle Found Entangled in Barbed Wire in Bareilly, Sparks Public Concern
A severely injured bovine was found entangled in barbed wire in Bareilly’s Meerganj area, suffering critical wounds. Animal welfare volunteer Sunita Singh provided first aid and raised concerns over illegal fencing practices, prompting locals to demand strict administrative action to prevent such incidents.
Upon receiving information about the incident, animal welfare volunteer Sunita Singh promptly reached the location and initiated immediate first aid treatment. Controlling the injured animal proved to be a challenging task, as it resisted restraint due to extreme distress. According to Sunita Singh, two ropes snapped during the attempt to secure the animal before a third rope was successfully used to bring it under control.
Sunita Singh reported that the bovine had sustained multiple deep wounds across its body. After administering primary treatment, she informed a veterinary doctor to ensure that the animal receives proper medical care.
She also recorded a video of the incident and shared it on social media, raising serious concerns about the continued use of barbed wire fencing in fields despite government strictness on the matter. She highlighted that such fencing is repeatedly causing injuries to cattle.
Local residents have appealed to the administration to address the issue urgently. They have demanded a ban on the use of barbed wire in agricultural fields and called for strict measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
The incident has once again brought attention to the risks posed by hazardous fencing practices, underlining the need for stricter enforcement and preventive action to safeguard animal welfare.
