The national recognition was formalised during the high-profile AICSSYC 2025 event organized by the IEEE Computer Society in Kolkata, a summit where the country’s brightest students and professionals converged to demonstrate technical projects, leadership initiatives, and community engagement. The IEEE Computer Society at Galgotias University dominated the national "Battle of Chapters," clinching first place based on a rigorous evaluation of their innovative technical activities, impactful community involvement, and exemplary leadership over the past year. This outstanding performance earned the chapter a cash prize of USD 500, serving as an official acknowledgment of their superior contributions to the field.
The international Richard E. Merwin Student Scholarship awarded to Gaurang Pant carries immense prestige, established in memory of the 1993 IEEE Computer Society President, Richard E. Merwin (1924-2000), to incentivize academic brilliance and active participation within the global computing community.
