VinFast Charges Into Indian Market With VF 6 and VF 7 SUV Duo

VinFast enters the Indian EV market with the VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs, offering a choice between family-centric practicality and high-performance luxury. Featuring 5-star Bharat NCAP safety ratings, advanced ADAS technology, and a $500 million manufacturing investment in Tamil Nadu, VinFast aims to redefine sustainable mobility for Indian drivers with aggressive incentives and premium Italian design.

The "New Entrant Of The Year" VinFast has officially brought two formidable electric SUVs to India, each engineered with a distinct focus to redefine the nation’s daily commute. As the Vietnamese brand captures growing curiosity on Indian roads with its hard-to-miss designs, the choice for consumers has been distilled into a straightforward selection between the compact B-SUV VF 6 and the larger, more assertive C-SUV VF 7. While both vehicles share a common foundation, they diverge significantly in character, performance, and intent, offering a tailored electric vehicle experience for different segments of the Indian motoring public.

Guided by the "Duality in Nature" philosophy from the Italian design house Torino Design, the VF 6 presents a quieter, human-centric aesthetic characterized by a rounded, coupe-like silhouette that suits dense urban environments. This design harmoniously balances softness and strength, specifically tailored for young, active families. In stark contrast, the VF 7 adopts the "Asymmetric Aerospace" language, featuring sharper, angular lines, sculpted surfaces, and a wide stance further enhanced by 19 to 20-inch wheels and hidden door handles. While the VF 6 appeals to those preferring a clean and friendly design, the VF 7 is positioned for drivers seeking a distinctive and expressive road presence.

Performance metrics further separate the two models, as the VF 7 operates in a higher bracket with a Max Power of 260 kW and a Max Torque of 500 Nm, allowing for a 0-100 km/h sprint in approximately 5.8 seconds and a range of 510 km. The VF 6 Wind Infinity is tuned for everyday usability and cost optimization, delivering 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque, which facilitates an 8.9-second acceleration to 100 km/h and a range of 463 km. Charging efficiency remains competitive for both, with the VF 6 reaching 10-70% in 25 minutes and the VF 7 requiring 28 minutes.

Inside the cabin, both models serve as software-driven vehicles anchored by a 12.9-inch driver-oriented infotainment screen featuring wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and over-the-air updates. Safety is a paramount priority, with both SUVs achieving 5-star Bharat NCAP ratings. Aside from the Earth trim, both come standard with a robust ADAS suite including blind spot detection, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, lane change assist, and enhanced collision warning. The VF 6 interior focuses on family comfort with vegan leather and a dual-tone, airy layout, while the VF 7 offers a premium, driver-focused environment with more refined materials and dual-zone climate control.

VinFast is simultaneously building a comprehensive ecosystem in India, underscored by a 0 million investment in a Thoothukudi facility in Tamil Nadu capable of producing 150,000 vehicles annually. To ease the transition to electric, the company offers free charging on the V-Green network until March 31, 2029, a Value Assured resale program, and a warranty of up to ten years or 200,000 kilometers. Additionally, the "Trade Gas for Electric" initiative by Vingroup provides a 3% discount until March 31, 2026. Ultimately, the VF 6 stands as the natural choice for young families prioritizing practicality, while the VF 7 rewards independent drivers seeking high-performance engagement and premium refinement.
