Before travelling to Mumbai, Modi will be in Vadodara around noon, where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several development projects and address a public gathering.

During his Gujarat visit, Modi will dedicate three sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), covering 326 route kilometres and developed at a cost of more than Rs 20,700 crore.

The sections are New Sanand (North)-New Makarpura, New Umbergaon-New Saphale and New Saphale-New JNPT.

The commissioning of these sections will provide direct freight connectivity to Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority, facilitate faster movement of export-import cargo and strengthen links between industrial centres and ports.

The projects are also expected to help reduce logistics costs and ease congestion on Mumbai’s railway network. With the commissioning of these sections, the entire Dedicated Freight Corridor network will become fully operational.

Modi will also flag off freight train services from New Sanand (North), New Makarpura, New Umbergaon and New JNPT. He will also launch a new passenger train service between Tanda Road and Vadodara (Pratapnagar).

The Prime Minister will further dedicate the Jobat-Tanda Road new rail line, developed under the Chhota Udepur-Dhar project, to the nation.

He will also lay the foundation stones for three railway projects spanning 329 km and costing more than Rs 9,700 crore, along with three National Highway projects worth around Rs 1,780 crore.

Several Gujarat government projects worth around Rs 2,600 crore will also be inaugurated or launched during his visit.

For Mumbai, the key focus of the Prime Minister’s schedule will be the Global Fintech Fest, placing the city at the centre of discussions on emerging financial technologies, digital payments and inclusive finance.
