He made these remarks following his meeting with Bulgaria’s Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova-Chamova during his official visit to Bulgaria. Jaishankar highlighted that the discussions between the two sides covered three key dimensions, beginning with bilateral cooperation between India and Bulgaria, extending to India’s partnership with the European Union, and further encompassing broader cooperation between countries aimed at strengthening global stability and progress.
The External Affairs Minister underlined India’s clear stance on economic security, noting recent experiences of global disruption and the increasing threat posed by terrorism. He reiterated that India firmly believes this is not an era of war, stressing that the only viable path to resolving conflicts lies in dialogue and diplomacy.
Addressing global economic concerns, Jaishankar stated that risks to the international system must be managed through resilient supply chains and greater diversification to reduce vulnerabilities. He further emphasized the importance of ensuring that maritime trade routes remain secure, uninterrupted, and free from any form of threat or obstruction.
