India’s four-member squash contingent, including Abhay Singh, Veer Chotrani, Ramit Tandon and Velavan Senthilkumar, faces a daunting challenge at the World Squash Championships 2026 in Giza, Egypt. With difficult opening-round clashes against top-ranked global stars, India continues its hunt for a historic first singles medal at the prestigious PSA event.

A four-member Indian contingent comprising Abhay Singh, Veer Chotrani, Ramit Tandon and Velavan Senthilkumar will attempt to battle through a difficult draw at the World Squash Championships 2026, set to begin in Giza on Friday.

The PSA World Championships 2025-26 will be held from May 8 to 16 at the Palm Hills Club and PGC Golf Central Mall. Organised by the Professional Squash Association, the tournament will feature several of the world’s top-ranked players, including men’s world No. 1 Mostafa Asal and women’s world No. 1 Hania El Hammamy.

Asian Games medallist Abhay Singh, India’s highest-ranked men’s singles player at world No. 22, will face fellow Indian Veer Chotrani, ranked world No. 43, in a first-round clash. The winner of the all-Indian encounter will meet either defending champion Mostafa Asal or Germany’s Raphael Kandra in the next round.

Velavan Senthilkumar faces a formidable opening-round challenge against France’s sixth seed and current world No. 5 Victor Crouin. Ramit Tandon, ranked world No. 40, will open his campaign against Egypt’s Kareem El Torkey, who is placed 19 spots higher in the world rankings.
