In his address, Vice President CP Radhakrishnan stated that early detection remains a vital link in the fight against cancer. He affirmed that the Central Government is seriously committed to strengthening cancer treatment infrastructure across the country. He also highlighted the need for greater focus on cancer care facilities in rural regions to ensure equitable access to treatment.
The Vice President noted that the government has expanded daycare cancer centers, with more than 450 centers already operational across the country. He further informed that anti-cancer medicines are being integrated into the Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme to enhance affordability and accessibility of treatment for patients.
Referring specifically to cervical cancer, CP Radhakrishnan mentioned that a vaccination program targeting cervical cancer was initiated in February this year. He described such initiatives as foundational steps toward transformative healthcare outcomes.
During the event, the Vice President also appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and praised the work of Medical Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar in strengthening the healthcare system. He also expressed support for the views presented by Governor Haribhau Bagde.
Emphasizing preventive health measures, CP Radhakrishnan stated that access to clean drinking water plays a crucial role in reducing cancer risks. He further added that mental peace and emotional well-being are equally important components in the journey toward overcoming cancer.
The event concluded with a strong message reinforcing the importance of awareness, early diagnosis, and integrated healthcare efforts in the fight against cancer.
