Budget Session of Parliament Concludes Today Amid Key Legislative Developments

The Budget session of Parliament concludes today as Rajya Sabha considers the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026. The session saw passage of Finance and Appropriation Bills and key addresses by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on West Asia conflict.

 

The Budget session of Parliament of India will conclude today, with the Rajya Sabha likely to take up the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation (Amendment) Bill, 2026, for consideration and passing, marking a significant legislative moment on the final day of proceedings.

The session unfolded in two distinct phases, beginning with its first part on 28th January, which continued till 13th of February this year. During this phase, discussion took place on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address and the Union Budget for 2026-27, setting the tone for the government’s fiscal and policy direction.

The second phase of the Budget session commenced on the 8th of last month and witnessed crucial legislative activity. Parliament gave its nod to the Finance Bill 2026 and the Appropriation (No. 2) Bill 2026, completing essential financial business required for governance and public expenditure.

In addition to legislative proceedings, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed both Houses of Parliament during the session, presenting the Government’s position on the situation arising from the ongoing conflict in West Asia, thereby outlining India’s stance on a critical international issue.
