Revolver Threat in Uttar Pradesh Sparks Political Tension in Baghpat

A former block chief in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district has alleged he was threatened at gunpoint by the husband of the current block pramukh over contesting elections. Police have registered a case, launched an investigation, and increased security amid rising political tensions.

A serious security scare has shaken Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district after a former block chief alleged that he was threatened at gunpoint over his potential participation in upcoming local elections. The incident, reported from the Khekra area, has triggered a police investigation and heightened security arrangements amid growing political unease.

According to the complaint, Jitendra Dhama, a former block pramukh, was confronted by Parvinder, the husband of the current block chief. Dhama alleged that Parvinder brandished a revolver and issued a direct threat, warning him of dire consequences if he chose to contest the elections. The confrontation reportedly escalated to the point where Parvinder threatened to kill Dhama should he proceed with his political plans.

Following the incident, Dhama, who is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), approached the Khekra police station and filed a formal complaint. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case against Parvinder and initiated an investigation into the alleged threat. Officials confirmed that they are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and verifying all claims made by the complainant.

In light of the seriousness of the allegations and the involvement of political figures, local authorities have also stepped up security measures in the area to prevent any escalation and to ensure public order. Police sources said appropriate action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
