Head-On Bus Collision on National Highway 730 Leaves Over 10 Injured in Uttar Pradesh’s Shravasti

A head-on collision between two private buses on National Highway 730 in Shravasti, Uttar Pradesh, left over 10 passengers injured, including three in critical condition. One driver was seriously hurt. Police and local authorities launched rescue operations as investigations into the cause continue.

 

A major road accident disrupted traffic and triggered emergency response efforts on National Highway 730 in Uttar Pradesh’s Shravasti district on Wednesday, after two private passenger buses collided head-on along the busy Buddhist Circuit stretch of the highway.

According to officials, the crash occurred with such force that both buses were severely mangled, underscoring the intensity of the impact. One of the bus drivers sustained serious injuries, while more than ten passengers were hurt in the collision. Among the injured, three are reported to be in critical condition, raising concerns about the severity of the incident.

Emergency services were rushed to the scene soon after the accident was reported. Ambulances transported all injured passengers to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Ikauna, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Medical teams are monitoring the critically injured patients closely, hospital sources said.

Police and local administrative authorities promptly launched rescue and relief operations, securing the accident site and assisting in the evacuation of victims. Traffic movement on the highway was temporarily affected as officials worked to clear debris and ensure the safety of commuters.
