₹1.096 Million Embezzlement Allegation Rocks PAC Unit in Meerut; SI and Constable Suspended
Two PAC personnel in Meerut have been suspended after allegedly embezzling ₹1.096 million from the government treasury by manipulating salary records on the treasury portal. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway to determine accountability and recover losses.
The case pertains to the 6th Battalion of the PAC, where Sub-Inspector Mukesh Kumar and Constable Ashish were posted in the accounts branch. According to official sources, the duo is accused of siphoning off ₹1.096 million from the government treasury by manipulating salary-related entries on the treasury portal. The discrepancy came to light during a financial review, prompting authorities to verify records and assess the extent of the loss.
After confirmation of the damage to the state exchequer, senior officials ordered immediate disciplinary action. A criminal case has been registered at Pallavpuram police station, formally initiating legal proceedings against the accused personnel. Police authorities stated that the alleged tampering involved unauthorized alterations in salary data, resulting in wrongful withdrawals.
