The emails, sent to multiple official civic corporation email IDs, triggered an immediate response from the police and security agencies. As a precautionary measure, security has been significantly strengthened around the Mayor’s Office, the Chief Minister’s Office, and the Bombay Stock Exchange, while additional surveillance has been deployed across sensitive locations.
In a separate instance, Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde reportedly received a threatening email warning of bomb blasts targeting her official vehicle and office. The same communication also referenced the Chief Minister’s Office, the Mayor’s Office, and the Bombay Stock Exchange, escalating security concerns across key administrative and financial institutions.
According to officials, the emails contained references to Khalistan and included inflammatory and threatening content directed at multiple organisations and public institutions. The nature of the language used in the messages prompted immediate concern among security agencies.
The threats allegedly claimed that an improvised explosive device-laden vehicle would be used to carry out an explosion at the Mayor’s Office at 1:11 pm. The emails also extended similar bomb threats to the Bombay Stock Exchange building, the Chief Minister’s Office, and various Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation offices at specified times.
Following the serious nature of the threats, Mumbai Police, the Cyber Cell, and other security agencies have launched a coordinated investigation to identify the sender and determine the motive behind the emails. Authorities are conducting detailed technical analysis to trace the origin of the messages.
Investigators are examining server locations, IP addresses, and other digital evidence as part of efforts to track down the individual or group responsible. At the same time, security arrangements have been further reinforced at all mentioned locations.
Officials stated that the investigation remains ongoing and that agencies are assessing whether the emails were intended as a hoax or are linked to a larger conspiracy. Once the perpetrator is identified, strict legal action will be taken.
The incident has placed Mumbai’s security apparatus under heightened alert, with cyber and intelligence units working in coordination to prevent any potential escalation while ensuring public safety across critical city landmarks.
