Ranveer Singh Visits Chamundeshwari Temple Amid FWICE Ban, Don 3 Fallout and Legal Controversies
Ranveer Singh visits Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru amid FWICE ban and Don 3 fallout controversy. The actor, linked to the Kantara mimicry case and a Karnataka High Court directive, faces industry sanctions, legal scrutiny, and a Rs 45 crore compensation demand from Excel Entertainment.
The visit comes just a day after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees imposed a ban on the actor and issued a non-cooperation directive against him. The film body alleged that Ranveer Singh failed to respond to multiple requests seeking his personal clarification regarding the ongoing dispute, leading to formal action against him.
Videos of the actor offering prayers at the Chamundeshwari Temple surfaced online soon after his visit and quickly went viral across social media platforms. The appearance has drawn significant attention, particularly as it follows weeks of heightened controversy linked to his professional and legal challenges.
The visit is also being associated with the Karnataka High Court’s earlier order in connection with the Kantara mimicry case. Ranveer Singh had faced legal trouble after his mimicry performance at the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India allegedly hurt religious and cultural sentiments, resulting in an FIR being filed against him in Karnataka. However, the High Court later quashed the FIR while acknowledging concerns raised over the incident and reportedly directed the actor to visit the Chamundeshwari Temple in Mysuru within four weeks as part of the resolution process.
During his temple visit, Ranveer Singh maintained a low profile and was seen dressed in a traditional white tunic and trousers paired with a black waistcoat. Earlier on the same day, he was also spotted at Mumbai Airport, where he deliberately avoided interaction with paparazzi amid growing public attention surrounding the Don 3 controversy.
The controversy surrounding Don 3 continues to intensify following Ranveer Singh’s exit from the project. FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive on Monday, May 25, further escalating tensions within the film industry. The federation stated that the actor did not respond to repeated invitations to present his explanation in person.
Adding to the dispute, Excel Entertainment, the production house backing Don 3 led by Farhan Akhtar, has reportedly demanded Rs 45 crore from Ranveer Singh as compensation for pre-production expenses incurred prior to his departure from the film.
Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh’s spokesperson has issued a statement emphasizing that the actor does not wish to contribute to ongoing speculation. The statement noted that he has chosen silence throughout the developments surrounding Don 3, believing that professional matters and personal equations should be handled privately with dignity, maturity, and mutual respect. It further added that the actor remains focused on his work commitments and upcoming projects.
The convergence of legal directives, industry sanctions, and escalating production disputes has placed Ranveer Singh at the center of multiple high-profile controversies, making his recent temple visit a focal point of public and media attention.
