BRICS CCI Announces New Governing Body for 2026–2029 Term at 14th Annual General Meeting in New Delhi
The BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry announced its newly elected Governing Body for the 2026–2029 term during the 14th Annual General Meeting in New Delhi. Sameep Shastri assumed office as Chairman, while senior leaders and industry professionals joined the new leadership team to strengthen global economic cooperation, trade partnerships, and multilateral engagement among BRICS nations.
The appointments and declarations were formally conducted under the supervision of Returning Officer Shri Jalaj Shrivastava, a former IAS officer, following the successful and unanimous completion of the election process. As the number of valid nominations did not exceed the number of available positions, all nominated candidates were elected unopposed in accordance with the provisions of the Chamber.
The newly elected Office Bearers officially took oath during the Oath Taking Ceremony conducted as part of the 14th Annual General Meeting. Mr. Sameep Shastri assumed office as Chairman of BRICS CCI, while Ms. Shabana Nasim and Mr. Atul Banshal were appointed as Vice Chairpersons. Mr. Prann Sharma took charge as Director General and Mr. Ruhail Ranjan was appointed Director Finance.
The ceremony also witnessed a landmark moment for the Chamber with the formal appointment of Dr. BBL Madhukar as Chairman Emeritus of BRICS CCI. The honour was conferred in recognition of his long-standing contribution, visionary leadership, and institutional guidance in strengthening the Chamber’s international engagement and strategic direction over the years.
The newly constituted Governing Body for the 2026–2029 term includes Mr. Adarsh Kumar, Mr. Ajit Singh, Mr. Aman Jindal, Mr. Amit Gulati, Mr. Ankur Aggarwal, Mr. Ashish Srivastava, Mr. Asutosh Lohia, Mr. Bibin Babu, Mr. C. Prabhakaran, Mr. Chandra Vijay, Mr. Deepak Shukla, Mr. Dheerendra Kumar, Dr. Dhiraj Kr. Singh, Mr. Gulshan Narang, Dr. J.K. Das, Mr. Kailash Aggarwal, Mr. Neeraj K. Mishra, Ms. Nidhi Goyal, Mr. Nishant Sama, Mr. P.K. Gupta, Mr. Prem Pankaj, Ms. Ruby Sinha, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Aggarwal, Mr. Sarthak Garg, Mr. Satyajit Kumar, Mr. Shekhar Gupta, Mr. Sushil Sharma, Mr. Vikram Singhal, Dr. Vinod Kr. Verma, and Ms. Sharmistha Ghosh.
During the proceedings of the Annual General Meeting, Lt. Gen. D.V. Kalra and Mr. Amit Mittal were formally co-opted as members of the Governing Body, further strengthening the Chamber’s institutional leadership.
According to the Chamber, the newly formed Governing Body brings together distinguished leaders and professionals from sectors including trade, finance, diplomacy, healthcare, sustainability, entrepreneurship, governance, strategic affairs, and international cooperation. The Chamber stated that this collective leadership is expected to reinforce BRICS CCI’s institutional vision and expand its role as a global platform for economic dialogue, policy engagement, multilateral cooperation, and international business collaboration.
Mr. Sameep Shastri formally assumed charge as Chairman following the Oath Taking Ceremony. Having previously served as Vice Chairman of the Chamber for six years, he played a significant role in expanding BRICS CCI’s international outreach, youth leadership initiatives, and strategic partnerships. Under the new leadership, the Chamber aims to intensify its engagement across emerging economies, innovation ecosystems, industry sectors, and people-to-people collaborations.
The newly elected leadership team is expected to accelerate BRICS CCI’s initiatives focused on trade promotion, investment opportunities, sustainability partnerships, entrepreneurship development, innovation, policy advocacy, and institutional cooperation among BRICS nations and partner countries, reinforcing the Chamber’s growing influence in the global economic landscape.
