Chandrababu Naidu Announces Dedicated Public Grievance Platform, Pushes for Faster Digital Governance in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced a dedicated public grievance platform and introduced “Field Grievance Day” to strengthen governance and citizen engagement. The state government is also accelerating digital administration, reducing file clearance time and expanding online public services through technology-driven reforms.

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday announced that the state government will soon introduce a dedicated platform on the lines of a public grievance hearing system to strengthen grievance redressal and improve administrative responsiveness across the state.

Addressing the seventh District Collectors’ Conference at the Secretariat in Amaravati, Naidu called upon public representatives and government officials to work in coordination to ensure timely resolution of public complaints and administrative issues.

The Chief Minister said the proposed platform would be designed to reinforce the Public Grievance Redressal System and improve direct engagement between citizens and the administration. Drawing inspiration from Singapore’s grievance resolution model, he stressed the need for quicker and decentralised problem-solving mechanisms extending to the mandal level.

In a major administrative directive, Naidu declared that every Friday would be observed as “Field Grievance Day,” during which officials would visit constituencies directly to receive and resolve complaints from the public. He instructed district collectors to visit every constituency four times a month and treat grievance redressal as a goodwill mission aimed at strengthening public trust in the government.

The Chief Minister also ordered that all video conferences be restricted to a single day each week in order to maximise field-level engagement by officials and administrators.

Highlighting the role of technology in governance reforms, Naidu stated that online delivery of government services would significantly reduce corruption, misuse of authority and unnecessary delays. He said nearly 90 percent of government services are already accessible through the state’s WhatsApp-based governance platform and directed officials to ensure complete integration of all services by December.

Naidu further emphasised the importance of improving disaster warning systems, regulating illegal urban constructions and strengthening data-driven governance through integrated dashboards and real-time monitoring systems.

During the conference, the Chief Minister described file clearance as the most critical factor in accelerating governance delivery. He appreciated Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad for disposing of a large number of files within 10 hours and said faster clearance directly translates into faster public service delivery.

“From the Chief Secretary to secretaries, heads of departments and officials at the mandal level, the speed of file clearance must increase,” Naidu said while directing all departments to eliminate manual files and shift completely to electronic governance systems.

The Chief Minister instructed ministers and officials to dispose of electronic files within 24 hours and warned that the performance of every official in clearing files is being documented. He praised ministers, district collectors, superintendents of police and departmental secretaries who demonstrated efficiency in clearing electronic files, expressing satisfaction that processing times had reduced from several days to a matter of hours.

Naidu also directed officials to identify the volume of files still existing outside the electronic office system and instructed district administrations to generate only electronic files in the future. He urged collectors to adopt innovative approaches in delivering public services efficiently and transparently.

Meanwhile, Information Technology Secretary K. Bhaskar informed the conference that statewide file clearance time has dropped significantly from 10 days to just two days.

The announcements made during the conference signal the Andhra Pradesh government’s aggressive push toward faster governance, complete digital integration and direct public engagement, with the administration aiming to improve accountability, transparency and citizen confidence through technology-driven reforms.
