Undercover Operation in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Police Arrest Nida Khan in Nashik TCS Forced Conversion Case
Nashik Police arrested Nida Khan, the prime accused in the TCS forced conversion case, after a covert surveillance operation in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Officers in plain clothes tracked her for days before detaining her ahead of a planned bail application. She has been remanded for further investigation in Nashik.
Acting on a credible tip-off, Nashik Police traced Khan to a rented flat in Kaiser Colony located in the Naregaon area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Intelligence inputs indicated that she had been residing at the premises for the past three to four days, accompanied by her father, mother, brother, and a maternal aunt.
Rather than executing an immediate raid, police officers deployed a rare surveillance-driven strategy. Over a period of three to four days, more than 20 personnel were discreetly stationed in and around the premises. To avoid attracting attention, officers operated in plain clothes and refrained from using police jeeps, ensuring that the ongoing operation remained undetected by local residents.
During this period, Khan was reportedly in contact with legal counsel in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, with preparations underway to file a bail application in the High Court. However, the police moved swiftly and detained her before the application could be formally submitted.
Following her arrest, Nida Khan was produced late at night before a judge at the official residence of a judicial officer located at Sutgirni Chowk. The Nashik Police subsequently secured transit remand and transported her to Nashik in a special vehicle for further interrogation and investigation.
Khan, a process associate at TCS since 2021, was suspended last month after allegations surfaced linking her to coercive religious conversion activities targeting employees at the company’s Nashik office. Investigators have alleged that she circulated Islamic religious material, including books and videos, to individuals identified as survivors, as part of an alleged coordinated effort involving multiple employees, suggesting the existence of a wider network or racket within the workplace.
She had previously sought interim protection from arrest, claiming pregnancy as grounds for relief. However, the court rejected her plea, allowing investigative proceedings to continue.
Khan is the eighth accused to be arrested in the case, with seven others apprehended during earlier stages of the investigation. Authorities continue to probe the extent of the alleged operation and the involvement of additional individuals.
The arrest marks a significant development in a case that has drawn serious legal and administrative scrutiny, highlighting the use of covert policing tactics and sustained surveillance to apprehend suspects attempting to evade judicial process.
