Bihar NDA Cabinet Expansion: 32 Ministers to Take Oath Amid Revised Power Balance
Bihar NDA cabinet expansion sees 32 ministers sworn in today with a revised BJP strength of 15 after inclusion of Shreyasi Singh. JD(U) holds 13 posts, while LJP(R), HAM, and RLM secure representation. The reshuffle reflects a balanced coalition structure excluding the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers already sworn in.
According to official sources, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s representation in the cabinet has increased to 15 ministers following confirmation that Shreyasi Singh has also received an official invitation for ministerial induction. Earlier indications had placed the BJP’s share at 14 ministers, but the inclusion of Shreyasi Singh has now revised the tally upward to 15.
The Janata Dal (United) is expected to hold 13 ministerial positions in the new cabinet, reflecting its substantial role within the ruling alliance. Alongside the two principal partners, representation from allied parties has also been accommodated in the cabinet structure. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is expected to have two ministers, while the Hindustani Awam Morcha will be allotted one ministerial position. The Rashtriya Lok Morcha will also have one representative inducted into the cabinet.
The total strength of the newly formed council stands at 32 ministers, excluding the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Ministers, who have already been sworn in separately. The arrangement reflects a calibrated distribution of portfolios and representation across alliance partners.
The final composition underscores a strategically balanced coalition framework within the National Democratic Alliance in Bihar, ensuring proportional representation across key constituent parties and associated social groups as the government formally takes shape.
The cabinet expansion highlights a deliberate power-sharing structure within the Bihar National Democratic Alliance, reinforcing coalition stability while accommodating diverse political partners in the state’s governance framework.
