Jagdish Farshan Introduces Avocado Oil Sev Range and 80g Grab-and-Go Packs in Strategic Product Evolution

Vadodara-based Jagdish Farshan has launched one of India’s first avocado oil sev ranges along with 80 gram grab-and-go packs across its namkeen portfolio. The move reflects a strategic shift towards healthier ingredients, modern consumption habits, and portion-controlled snacking while maintaining traditional taste and expanding distribution across India.

In a significant development reflecting the transformation of legacy food brands in response to evolving consumer preferences, Vadodara-based traditional snacks and namkeen manufacturer Jagdish Farshan, established in 1938 and carrying a legacy of over eight decades, has launched one of India’s first sev ranges prepared using avocado oil. The company has also announced the upcoming rollout of 80 gram grab-and-go packs across its snack portfolio.

With an extensive portfolio of 500 products and stock keeping units and a presence across multiple markets, the brand’s latest initiatives mark a deliberate shift towards more conscious ingredient choices and contemporary consumption patterns, while maintaining the taste and familiarity that have long defined its offerings. The products are being distributed through e-commerce platforms, retail outlets, and quick commerce channels. The newly introduced avocado oil sev range, available in four variants, aligns with a rising consumer inclination towards better-for-you indulgence products.

Commenting on the launch, Managing Director Aakash Kandoi stated that modern consumers are no longer choosing between taste and improved ingredients, but expect both simultaneously. He noted that the opportunity for the brand lies not in reinventing its longstanding products, but in evolving them meaningfully. He added that the introduction of avocado oil in sev represents a fundamental rethinking of a key ingredient while preserving the essence of the product. He further emphasized that the new packaging formats reflect changing consumption behaviour, marked by increased mobility, frequency, and intentional purchasing. According to him, the initiative represents a more relevant continuation of tradition rather than a departure from it.

In addition to ingredient innovation, the company is restructuring consumption formats through the introduction of 80 gram packs across its namkeen range. These are designed to cater to urban consumers with fast-paced lifestyles who increasingly prefer portion-controlled and on-the-go snacking options. The smaller packs are intended to address dual market trends, including controlled consumption habits and impulse buying behaviour, thereby increasing purchase frequency and expanding the brand’s potential consumer base.

The dual launch strategy underscores a broader corporate vision in which tradition and transformation operate in synergy rather than opposition. By combining established recipes, evolving ingredient standards, and more accessible packaging formats, Jagdish Farshan is positioning itself to engage a new generation of snack consumers.

Established in 1938, Jagdish Farshan has built a strong reputation in the traditional snacks industry with its diverse range of namkeen, sweets, and ready-to-eat products. Rooted in authentic flavours and quality craftsmanship, the brand has evolved into an organised player catering to a wide and expanding consumer base.

With a portfolio of 500 products and stock keeping units and a presence across multiple markets, the company operates through a robust manufacturing infrastructure and an expanding distribution network across retail and institutional channels. Its approach integrates traditional recipes with modern production processes to ensure consistency, hygiene, and scalability.

As the brand continues its expansion trajectory, it remains focused on strengthening market presence through strategic growth, relevant product innovation, and a sustained commitment to delivering quality-driven consumer experiences.
