Havmor Unveils Guava Chilli Ice Cream, Blending Street-Style Nostalgia with Modern Innovation
Havmor, under LOTTE India Corporation, launches Guava Chilli Ice Cream inspired by India’s street-style guava and chilli snack. Featuring 25% fruit content, a spice sachet for customization, and wide retail availability, the product blends nostalgia with modern innovation and interactive consumption experiences across India.
The new ice cream delivers a balanced profile of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavours, staying aligned with Havmor’s philosophy of evolving existing consumer preferences rather than creating entirely unfamiliar taste concepts. The product is crafted with 25 percent fruit preparation, reinforcing its real fruit content while maintaining the brand’s signature milk-based creaminess.
Positioned as an experiential product, Guava Chilli Ice Cream includes a separate chilli spice sachet that allows consumers to customize the intensity of spice according to personal preference. This dual-format design enhances consumer interaction and is targeted particularly at younger audiences seeking novelty-driven food experiences.
Rishabh Verma, Head of Marketing, stated that guava with chilli is a deeply rooted flavour memory across India. He emphasized that the company has reimagined a familiar street-side experience into a modern dessert format without compromising its original essence, describing it as an intuitive form of innovation rather than experimental development.
Janaki Patel, Assistant General Manager, Marketing, highlighted that the product’s strength lies in its balance between flavour authenticity and experiential customization. She noted that the chilli sachet enables personalization, while the fruit content and creamy texture ensure product credibility. She further stated that early market response has been strong, with the product emerging as one of the brand’s top-performing tubs.
The product has been launched across general trade outlets, Havmor branded parlours, and quick commerce platforms including BlinkIt, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and Flipkart Minutes. The launch is supported by an extensive out-of-home advertising and digital campaign designed to highlight the nostalgic appeal of the flavour combination.
LOTTE India Corporation Private Limited, a subsidiary of LOTTE Wellfood Company Limited of South Korea, also serves as the parent company of Havmor Ice Cream. The company recently inaugurated one of the largest ice cream manufacturing facilities in Pune, constructed with an investment of 500 crore rupees across a 60,000 square metre area. The facility significantly enhances production capacity to meet growing demand and expand distribution across India.
The company is also known for its confectionery portfolio, including Choco Pie and candy products, and has recently introduced Pepero, a global chocolate stick brand, in the Indian market. Its innovation pipeline includes products such as Krunch, India’s first Korean-style four-layer ice cream bar, World Cone Ice Cream, and easy-tear packaging solutions designed for convenience.
Additional offerings include playful frozen desserts such as Subak and Shark, which combine dual flavours, slushy textures, and distinctive shapes aimed at children, teenagers, and adults.
Havmor Ice Cream, a legacy brand with over 80 years of history, continues to expand its presence across India. The brand has built a strong national footprint across more than 23 states and union territories, supported by a distribution network of over 85,000 dealers and more than 250 flagship parlours, positioning itself as one of the fastest-growing ice cream brands in the country.
The launch of Guava Chilli Ice Cream further reinforces Havmor’s commitment to combining tradition with innovation, delivering flavour experiences designed to be remembered rather than merely consumed.
