India’s Defence Exports Hit Record ₹38,424 Crore in FY 2025–26, Marking 62.66% Growth: Rajnath Singh

Describing the surge as a “big jump,” Mr. Singh said the rise in defence exports reflects growing “global trust” in India’s indigenous defence capabilities. In a social media post, he stated that the country is “scripting an impressive defence exports success story,” underlining the rapid transformation of India’s defence production ecosystem.

“India defence exports have touched a new all-time high with a record ₹38,424 crore in FY 2025–26. It marks a robust 62.66% growth over the previous fiscal,” the Defence Minister said. He further highlighted that the increase represents a sharp rise of ₹14,802 crore compared to the previous year.

“This big jump of ₹14,802 crore in defence exports reflects the growing global trust in India's indigenous capabilities and advanced manufacturing strength,” he added, emphasizing the strategic importance of self-reliance and technological advancement in the sector.

According to the data shared, Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) contributed 54.84% of the total exports, while private industry accounted for 45.16%. Mr. Singh said this distribution underscores the strength of a collaborative and self-reliant defence ecosystem driven by both public and private stakeholders.

The latest figures show a consistent upward trend in India’s defence exports. The exports stood at ₹23,622 crore in 2024–25 and ₹21,083 crore in 2023–24, indicating steady growth leading up to the current record-breaking performance.

The achievement marks a significant milestone in India’s defence sector, reinforcing its position as a credible global supplier and highlighting the effectiveness of policies aimed at boosting indigenous production and export capacity.
