Meerut Police Step Up Citywide Security With Overnight Crackdown Ahead of New Year Celebrations

Meerut Police intensified security ahead of New Year celebrations, launching a citywide overnight crackdown. Senior officers led vehicle checks, seized violators’ vehicles, penalized drunk drivers, and divided the city into sectors and zones to ensure strict vigilance and public safety.

As the New Year approaches, authorities in Meerut have moved swiftly to tighten security, launching an extensive citywide operation to ensure public safety and deter unlawful activity during celebrations. Senior police officials took to the streets themselves, overseeing intensified vehicle checks and night-long patrols across key locations in the city.

Police teams conducted rigorous inspections of vehicles, resulting in several being seized for violations, while multiple motorists were penalized for driving under the influence of alcohol. The enforcement drive was aimed at preventing accidents, maintaining law and order, and sending a clear warning against reckless behavior during the festive period.

Senior Superintendent of Police Vipin Tada personally led the special operation, remaining on the ground with police personnel throughout the night. To enhance surveillance and response efficiency, Meerut was strategically divided into 30 sectors and nine zones, allowing for coordinated monitoring and rapid deployment of forces wherever required.

The heightened police presence, combined with continuous patrolling and checkpoints, has significantly strengthened the city’s security framework. Officials emphasized that strict vigilance would continue through the New Year celebrations to ensure that residents can welcome the new year in a safe and orderly environment.
