Muzaffarnagar SSP Issues Firm New Year Advisory, Urges Citizens to Celebrate Responsibly

Muzaffarnagar SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma urges citizens to celebrate New Year responsibly, warning against loud music, drunk driving, and traffic violations as police step up measures to ensure a safe and peaceful festive period.

As New Year celebrations approach, police authorities in Muzaffarnagar have issued a clear and cautionary message aimed at ensuring public safety and civic order across the district. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjay Kumar Verma has appealed to residents to welcome the New Year with restraint, discipline, and respect for the law, underscoring the administration’s focus on maintaining peace during the festivities.

Addressing the public ahead of the celebrations, SSP Verma urged citizens to observe decorum and avoid activities that could disturb public harmony. He specifically called on people to refrain from playing loud music and high-volume DJ systems, warning that noise pollution would not be tolerated. The advisory reflects concerns over public inconvenience and safety, particularly during late-night celebrations.

The police chief also emphasized strict enforcement against drunk driving, making it clear that violators would face firm legal action. He reminded motorists to follow traffic regulations without exception, stressing that road safety remains a top priority during the New Year period, when incidents linked to reckless driving often increase.

Police teams across Muzaffarnagar have been instructed to remain vigilant, with heightened checks and monitoring planned to ensure a secure environment for residents. SSP Verma appealed for public cooperation, stating that a peaceful and safe New Year celebration depends on collective responsibility between citizens and law enforcement.
