Sanjay Singh Stresses Power of the Ballot as Cornerstone of Social Development in Uttar Pradesh
AAP leader Sanjay Singh says voting rights are the key force behind development for tribal and backward communities, asserting that democratic participation compels governments to invest in welfare, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. He urged citizens to actively exercise their constitutional rights.
Speaking at a public interaction in Uttar Pradesh, Singh said that the ability of citizens to vote compels those in power—whether at the level of the Prime Minister or the Chief Minister—to take concrete steps toward the welfare of historically disadvantaged groups. According to him, democratic accountability ensures that governance remains responsive to the needs of tribal and backward communities.
Singh emphasized that the absence of electoral power would leave ordinary citizens invisible to the system. He warned that without the strength of the vote, issues such as access to quality education, healthcare facilities, and basic infrastructure like roads would not figure in government priorities. “Public representatives act because they are answerable to voters,” he said, highlighting the direct link between democratic participation and social development.
Calling on people to remain vigilant and active in the democratic process, the AAP leader urged citizens to exercise their constitutional rights responsibly. He said that participation in elections is not merely a civic duty but a means to safeguard the future of coming generations.
Singh’s remarks come at a time when debates around social justice, political representation, and equitable development are gaining renewed attention in the state. His message reinforces the broader democratic principle that sustained progress for marginalized communities depends on active public engagement and the effective use of voting rights to hold governments accountable.
