Stolen Iranian-Breed Horse Recovered in Uttar Pradesh, Suspect Arrested After Inter-District Operation
Uttar Pradesh Police recovered a stolen Iranian-breed horse in Unnao after it was taken from Lucknow, arresting the accused who allegedly sold the animal for ₹1.50 lakh. The horse, linked to Shia religious practices, will be returned to its original owner as investigations continue.
According to officials, the horse had been reported stolen from Lucknow, triggering an inquiry that eventually led investigators to Unnao. Acting on specific inputs, police recovered the animal and took into custody Salman, also known as Chhotu, who has been identified as the prime suspect in the case. Preliminary findings indicate that the accused sold the horse to another individual for ₹1.50 lakh after the theft.
Police officials confirmed that the recovered horse is of Iranian lineage and holds particular importance in religious observances of the Shia community.
