Armed Gang Raids Fuel Station in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj, Escapes With Cash and Phones

An armed group of five men looted cash and mobile phones from Chintapurni Filling Station in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, after threatening staff at gunpoint. The robbery, captured on CCTV, has prompted an intense police manhunt and renewed concerns over security in the Patiali area.

In a brazen late-night strike, an armed group of unidentified assailants stormed a fuel station in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj district and fled with cash and mobile phones, triggering an intensive police search across the region. The incident occurred at the Chintapurni Filling Station in the Patiali police-circle area, where five masked men arrived and threatened the staff at gunpoint before executing the swift robbery.

According to preliminary reports, the attackers brandished country-made pistols to force employees to surrender the petrol pump’s earnings for the day. The gang allegedly snatched ₹42,000 in cash and seized the staff’s mobile phones to prevent any immediate call for help. The entire sequence unfolded within minutes and was captured clearly on the station’s CCTV cameras, now serving as key evidence in the ongoing investigation.

Police teams from the Patiali Kotwali are examining the footage and conducting door-to-door inquiries in nearby localities in an effort to trace the suspects. Officers have also intensified vehicle checks along major routes leading out of the area, describing the case as a high-priority manhunt. Authorities say the footage provides crucial leads and hope it will expedite the identification of those involved.

The robbery has left local residents and business owners unsettled, raising fresh concerns about security along semi-urban stretches of the district. As police continue their pursuit, the incident has underscored the growing need for strengthened surveillance and coordinated law-enforcement measures to deter similar armed attacks in the region.
