Harassment Allegations at CRSU Spark Outrage as MP Deepender Hooda Demands Strict Action

A harassment case at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University has triggered strong criticism from Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda, who called the incident a criminal matter and demanded strict action. Allegations of administrative suppression have intensified scrutiny of student safety and university accountability in Haryana.

Mounting public concern has gripped Haryana after allegations of student harassment surfaced at Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University (CRSU), prompting a sharp response from Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda. Calling the revelations deeply disturbing, Hooda said the incident raises serious questions about the safety of young women on educational campuses and the conduct of those tasked with overseeing their welfare.

Hooda criticized the state of women’s security in educational institutions, remarking that the government’s widely promoted slogan advocating the protection and education of girls now appears hollow in light of such incidents. He said that, at first glance, the accusations constitute a criminal offence and merit immediate, transparent, and unbiased investigation. The lawmaker further expressed concern over claims that the university administration attempted to suppress the matter, noting that any effort to downplay or conceal the allegations would only aggravate the seriousness of the situation.

Urging the authorities to fast-track the inquiry, Hooda insisted that the strongest possible action be taken against those responsible. He emphasized that justice for the affected students must not be delayed and that accountability across all levels of administration is essential for restoring trust.

As the issue continues to draw public and political attention, the incident has renewed debate over the safety mechanisms in universities and the need for stronger institutional checks. The outcome of the investigation is expected to have lasting implications for student protection policies and administrative transparency across Haryana’s higher education sector.
