Clash in Prime Prayagraj District After Bus Parking Dispute; Ex-MLA’s Son Accused of Opening Fire

A violent clash erupted in Prayagraj’s upscale Civil Lines area after a dispute over bus parking outside a restaurant owned by a former MLA. The altercation between the ex-legislator’s son and a bus operator escalated into accusations of gunfire. Police have launched a detailed investigation backed by CCTV evidence.

A tense confrontation in one of Prayagraj’s most upscale neighbourhoods escalated into violence late Monday after an argument over bus parking outside a popular restaurant turned into a physical altercation. The incident, captured on CCTV, has prompted a police investigation and renewed concerns about public safety in high-profile commercial zones.

According to preliminary information, the dispute unfolded outside Khanasama Restaurant in Civil Lines, an establishment owned by former Samajwadi Party MLA Saeed Ahmed. The argument reportedly began when bus operator Ravi Sonkar attempted to park his vehicle in front of the restaurant. Staff allegedly objected to the bus being stationed there, leading to a heated exchange between Sonkar and the former legislator’s son, Kavi Ahmed.

The confrontation soon escalated into physical violence. Amid the scuffle, allegations emerged that Kavi Ahmed fired a shot during the altercation, although no injuries from the alleged gunfire have been reported so far. CCTV footage from the area, now in possession of the police, is expected to play a key role in determining the sequence of events.

Police officials confirmed that an inquiry is underway and statements from all involved parties are being recorded. Authorities have said they will examine the CCTV evidence carefully before deciding on further legal action.

With the involvement of individuals linked to political leadership, the case is likely to attract significant public and administrative attention in the days ahead.
