HDFC Life Showcases AI-Driven Insurance Innovation at Futurance Phase 7 Demo Day
HDFC Life, in collaboration with NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore and Z47, hosted the Futurance Phase 7 Demo Day focused on Artificial Intelligence-driven innovation in the insurance sector. The initiative attracted nearly 280 startup applications, with Telosa Services Pvt Ltd and Divum.AI shortlisted for Proof of Concept collaborations to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
Futurance, the flagship open innovation initiative of HDFC Life, has now entered its seventh phase with a continued focus on collaborating with high-potential startups capable of solving real-world business challenges in the insurance sector. The initiative serves as an ongoing corporate engagement platform that brings together startups, ecosystem enablers, and internal business teams to co-create advanced technology-driven solutions for the future of insurance.
The latest edition of Futurance was heavily focused on Artificial Intelligence-led innovations and explored technology-based use cases such as Auto Code Generator, AI-enabled Audio and Video Creation, and Site Reliability Engineering. The initiative attracted nearly 280 applications from startups across the country. After a rigorous screening process, 48 startups were shortlisted, with only five startups securing a place at the final Demo Day presentation.
The five startups that presented their solutions before the HDFC Life jury included Cyberultron Consulting Private Limited, Divum.AI, Nife Labs, TalentBerry under Skynetic Ventures LLP, and Telosa Services Pvt Ltd. The jury panel consisted of senior leadership members and business stakeholders from HDFC Life, who evaluated the startups through detailed presentations and extensive query resolution sessions.
Following the assessment process, Telosa Services Pvt Ltd and Divum.AI were shortlisted to move forward with Proof of Concept engagements with the company in the coming phase of collaboration.
Speaking on the initiative, Sameer Yogishwar, Chief Operating Officer of HDFC Life, said innovation continues to remain a major growth driver for the company. He stated that Futurance serves as a strategic initiative to engage with the startup ecosystem and collaborate on technology designed specifically for the insurance sector. He further said the Artificial Intelligence-focused edition is expected to help HDFC Life improve operational efficiency while significantly enhancing customer experience.
Commenting on the collaboration, Anish Patil, Principal at Z47, said Artificial Intelligence is creating transformative opportunities in insurance through faster claims processing, hyper-personalised products, and smarter underwriting systems. He added that Indian insurers are actively investing in modern and modular technology infrastructure capable of fully utilising these advancements, and described the collaboration with HDFC Life as a major value creation opportunity for the future of Indian insurance.
Anand Sri Ganesh, Chief Executive Officer of NSRCEL at IIM Bangalore, said the collaboration with HDFC Life under Futurance Phase 7 reflects a shared commitment toward integrating innovative startup solutions into large enterprises. He stated that NSRCEL worked closely with HDFC Life to identify promising technology startups capable of addressing business challenges across the insurance value chain. He added that the Demo Day represents an important milestone in enabling solutions with the potential to bring meaningful transformation to the insurance industry.
The Futurance Phase 7 Demo Day highlighted the growing role of Artificial Intelligence, startup innovation, and enterprise collaboration in reshaping India’s insurance sector. The initiative reinforced HDFC Life’s strategy of leveraging emerging technologies and startup partnerships to strengthen operational capabilities and improve customer-focused digital transformation across the industry.
