Terror Shockwaves in Punjab: Explosions Rock Jalandhar and Amritsar Near BSF Headquarters Amid Political Firestorm
Twin explosions in Jalandhar and Amritsar, including near a Border Security Force installation, have triggered political controversy in Punjab. Raghav Chadha strongly condemned the blasts, citing early police findings pointing to Pakistan’s intelligence agency, while criticizing the Punjab Chief Minister’s contrasting claims.
Former Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha, who has reportedly joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, reacted sharply to the incidents, strongly condemning the blasts and calling the situation deeply alarming. He stated that two bomb blasts had taken place in Punjab within a few hours, one in Jalandhar and another in Amritsar, describing them as an attempt to disturb peace and stability in the state.
Chadha asserted that the Director General of Police, in initial assessments conducted at the scene, indicated that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence was behind the attack. He emphasized that the investigation was still in its early stages but highlighted the seriousness of the preliminary findings.
However, he launched a direct political attack on the Punjab Chief Minister, stating that the Chief Minister has claimed that Pakistan’s intelligence agency was not involved and instead alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party was responsible for the incidents. Chadha questioned this stance, accusing the Chief Minister of attempting to provide a clean chit to Pakistan’s intelligence network.
He further alleged that the Chief Minister’s remarks were politically motivated, suggesting that deep hostility toward the Bharatiya Janata Party was influencing the narrative to the extent of aligning, as he claimed, with adversarial forces. Chadha described the statement as highly concerning and urged that it be taken seriously, questioning the compulsion behind such assertions from the state leadership.
The developments have intensified political tensions in Punjab as investigations continue into the twin blasts that have raised serious concerns over law and order in the region.
