Illegal Tree Felling Allegations Surface in Raebareli as Viral Video Triggers Forest Department Probe
A viral video from Raebareli’s Shivgarh area alleges illegal felling of Gular trees after a recent storm. Residents accuse forest mafias of ongoing unlawful cutting, while the Forest Department has promised an investigation and strict action if violations are confirmed.
The footage is reported to be from Rewan village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Gumaon Police Outpost in the Shivgarh Police Station area. According to information shared alongside the video, a recent storm had already caused the collapse of hundreds of trees in the region. In the aftermath, allegations have emerged that forest mafias have become active, illegally cutting down the remaining standing trees.
Local residents have claimed that unlawful tree felling has been ongoing in the area, alleging that the concerned authorities have failed to intervene or take action despite repeated occurrences. The situation has raised concerns about environmental damage and administrative inaction.
Responding to the viral video, Forest Ranger Sanjay Yadav stated that the matter would be thoroughly investigated. He assured that if illegal tree cutting is confirmed, strict action will be taken against the culprits in accordance with the law.
