Despite its sweeping success, TVK remains short of the majority mark of 118 seats. The party is currently 10 seats away from forming a clear majority, triggering widespread speculation that Vijay may soon take oath as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Following the announcement of the election results, supporters revisited a notable moment from Vijay’s 2024 film The Greatest Of All Time, initially intended as his final cinematic project. A scene from the film, now widely circulated on social media, shows Vijay’s character driving a car bearing the registration number “TN 07 CM 2026.” Fans have interpreted this as a symbolic indication of his ambition to assume the Chief Minister’s office in the 2026 elections.
By the time the film was released, Vijay had already established TVK and publicly declared his intention to contest elections and form the government. He officially launched Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in 2024 after expressing political aspirations well in advance. During this period, he also signaled his transition away from the film industry to pursue active political engagement. His later films, including GOAT, were widely perceived by supporters as containing subtle references to his political trajectory.
