The incident reportedly took place at Tavi Mor under the jurisdiction of Baluganj Police Station in Shimla. The dispute reportedly began when police personnel asked the taxi driver to remove his vehicle from the roadside due to the VIP movement. The driver, identified as Ashish Kumar, alleged that he had parked his motorcycle and car slightly ahead along the roadside at Tavi Mor. When instructed to move the vehicles, he expressed his inability to comply immediately, following which police initiated action to issue a traffic violation ticket for his motorcycle.
Ashish Kumar further alleged that when he began recording the situation on video, one of the police personnel misbehaved with him and kicked him in the chest. The video of the incident, now widely circulated on social media, has raised serious questions about police conduct and accountability.
At present, the police administration is engaged in verifying the facts of the case. Officials have emphasized that only after a thorough inquiry and proper recording of statements will further legal or departmental action be taken.
