Amroha on High Alert as Police Roll Out Tight Security Measures Ahead of New Year Celebrations
Amroha police have issued a high alert ahead of New Year celebrations, deploying round-the-clock security, CCTV surveillance and drone monitoring at crowded locations. Authorities warn of strict action against hooliganism and urge residents to celebrate responsibly.
Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand said the police administration is fully prepared to maintain public safety during the festivities. Emphasising zero tolerance towards unruly behaviour, he stated that individuals involved in hooliganism or attempts to disturb communal harmony will be dealt with firmly under the law. At the same time, he appealed to residents to welcome the New Year responsibly, in an atmosphere of peace and goodwill.
Security has been significantly strengthened at sensitive and high-footfall locations, including railway stations, bus terminals, marketplaces and other crowded areas. Police personnel have been instructed to remain on alert around the clock, particularly during late-night hours when celebrations typically peak. The heightened preparedness follows lessons drawn from incidents reported during previous New Year celebrations.
To bolster surveillance, the police have activated continuous monitoring through CCTV networks operating 24 hours a day. In addition, drone cameras will be used to keep a close watch over crowded zones, enabling swift response to any suspicious activity or emerging situation. Senior officers are also conducting regular reviews to ensure coordination among field units and rapid deployment if required.
The comprehensive security plan reflects the administration’s focus on preventive policing and public safety as the year draws to a close. With law enforcement agencies on full alert and technological monitoring in place, the police aim to ensure that New Year celebrations in Amroha remain safe, orderly and incident-free, setting a calm and positive tone for the year ahead.
