Ten Hindu Raksha Dal Activists Jailed in Ghaziabad Over Alleged Sword Distribution Drive

Ten Hindu Raksha Dal activists were arrested and sent to jail in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad for allegedly distributing swords during a door-to-door campaign. Police recovered eight swords and said the weapons were arranged by HRD president Pinky Chaudhary. Investigation and legal action are ongoing.

Authorities in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad have sent ten activists of the Hindu Raksha Dal (HRD) to jail after arresting them on allegations of distributing swords during a door-to-door campaign, a move police say raised serious public safety concerns.

According to the police, the arrests were made following specific inputs that members of the organization were moving through residential areas and handing out swords to individuals. Acting on the information, law enforcement officials detained ten men identified as Kapil Kumar, Shyam Prasad, Arun Jain, Rampal, Amit Singh, Amit Kumar, Amit Arora, Mohit Singh, Devendra Baghel, and Ujala Singh.

During the operation, police recovered eight swords from the possession of the accused. Preliminary investigation has indicated that the weapons were arranged by Hindu Raksha Dal president Pinky Chaudhary, a detail that has widened the scope of the probe. Officials said the manner in which the swords were allegedly distributed suggested an organized effort rather than an isolated incident.

Senior police officers stated that the accused were produced before the court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. Relevant sections of law have been invoked, and further investigation is underway to determine the full chain of procurement, distribution, and intent behind the alleged activity.

The incident has drawn attention amid heightened sensitivity around unlawful possession and circulation of weapons in public spaces. Authorities have emphasized that strict action will be taken against any individual or group found violating the law or attempting to disrupt public order. As the investigation continues, police say they are examining whether others were involved and what broader implications the case may have for law enforcement and communal harmony in the region.
