Late-Night Tensions Erupt in Ghaziabad Over Street Dog Feeding, Police Step In to Restore Order

Late-night tensions gripped Ghaziabad’s Balaji Vihar Colony after a dispute over feeding a street dog led to protests and police intervention. Hindu groups staged a sit-in outside a Muslim family’s flat, prompting authorities to step in to restore order and ensure peace.

A routine act of compassion escalated into a prolonged late-night confrontation in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, after a dispute broke out over feeding a street dog in a residential neighbourhood, prompting police intervention to prevent further unrest.

The incident occurred in Balaji Vihar Colony, where a Muslim family feeding a stray dog became the focal point of objections raised by local residents and members of Hindu organisations. What began as a neighbourhood disagreement soon intensified, drawing a crowd and turning the area into the scene of heightened tensions.

As tempers flared, protesters gathered outside the family’s flat and staged a sit-in. The demonstration continued for hours, with participants reciting the Hanuman Chalisa, transforming the dispute into a high-voltage situation that lasted late into the night. The growing crowd and charged atmosphere raised concerns over law and order in the locality.

Upon receiving information about the disturbance, police teams reached the spot and took control of the situation. To de-escalate tensions and prevent any escalation, the police escorted the concerned Muslim family to the police station. Authorities clarified that the move was taken as a precautionary step to maintain peace in the area.
